BABY APPAREL

by Nikimandi_Admin

As a first time preggy, dressing up my baby was one of the many things that I really looked forward to.

And when the day finally dawned for the arrival of my first bundle of joy, I had already had lots of practice and experience from sorting, washing, ironing, hanging, folding and going back again to check the designs and imagine how they would look on her. LOL!

I just couldn’t wait for her arrival and that was why when it was easy peasy for me to handle her dress ups and choice of cloths too. Because as the saying goes, “Practice makes perfect.” Well all that is by the way, I just want to use this post to tackle some of the common problem new parents encounter from the overwhelming number of choices to the types they find.

It can cause a little stress and even some choice paralysis but if you are the type of parent who likes to be prepared, here are some of the baby clothes you should likely have in your baby’s  closet:

Baby cloths are often grouped into categories: Preemies, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and 12 months. Some babies are delivered quite big so they may not need the new born size.

We have the footie pajamas or sleep suits which is best for keeping babies warm.

Then there is the side snap shirt or bodysuit. Be sure to purchase at least 6 or more with long or short sleeves depending on the weather.

Booties and Mittens

Bonnets, caps and hats

Onesies

Sleep sacks

Receiving blankets and flannels

Wearable blankets

You should know that babies don’t like having things pulled over their heads. Choose clothing that opens in the front or on the side, or that has a wide neck opening.

Blankets and other bedding raise the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), so experts advise dressing your baby in layers at night for warmth. A sleeveless sack or wearable blanket that zips up the front and can be worn over a sleeper makes a great blanket alternative.

Also, babies outgrow newborn sizes quickly, so be sure to buy big – at least three months ahead.

If you have any questions, please feel free to leave them below and I will gladly help in any way I can.
