There are people who would always refer to being a mum as a full time job, and would you blame them? Most mums in the house can totally relate to that. We work so hard 24/7 to run a home that at the end of the day we find ourselves cringing from anything that has ‘W’ in it. So it’s totally understandable that mums like me who love cooking for their family actually end up being overwhelmed once in a while.
Don’t worry too much though. Every problem has a solution!
Few weeks ago, I was really engulfed by the demands of my rigorous and tight schedule that even Hubz who always preferred my home cooked meal anytime any day couldn’t help feeling sorry for me. And so when he asked that we eat out on this particular weekend, I didn’t argue with him. Knowing my body system, if I had tried to go the extra mile at this point when I had almost reached my elastic limit, I would simply have broken down. Hubz also knew this only too well, Thanks to him.
So we wanted the kids to have a feeling of ‘A home away from home’- somewhere cozy, hospitable and fun at the same time. We decided to try out this new restaurant in Lugbe Abuja known as the ‘Focus Direct’ guest house.
To say it was an enjoyable experience, is an understatement of the century. Everything about the restaurant was top-notch. They have lots of lovely facilities and meals and at affordable prices too. Their customer service was so amicable and accommodating. Their cleanliness was spectacular with the best reception services and extended breakfasts too.
On request, the lovely owner of the guest house took me on a tour and I was amazed to see the quality and quantity of facilities they possessed. There was complimentary Wi-Fi, fitness center, 24hour power supply, onsite dinning and perfect room service, to mention a few. Each room had a mini refrigerator, tv, chairs, tables and personalized bathrooms. Some of the more exquisite rooms even had high pressure shower heads! Wow! Hubz please I want nothing more than to spend our 7th anniversary at a place like this. #winks.
As for the mouth watering meals, let me tickle your taste buds a little; LOL
Their menu was inexhaustible, from the intercontinental to our very own traditional foods too, but after some indecisive moments, we settled for the meals below;
Hubz had peppered snails, white soup and eba. Suffice it to say that Hubz is not a swallow type of guy at all. For him to have taken the white soup and found it commendable, they deserve lots of accolades.
I had the traditional epic African salad known as abacha (my favorite), accompanied by ugba and cow skin.
The girls had chicken fried rice, spicy jollof rice and some tasty confectionaries as dessert -hmmm so yum! And they totally enjoyed it. One amazing thing I noticed was that I didn’t have to be on their necks to eat. They actually fed themselves willingly! Except the baby of course who was spoon fed for a while before she cried for her bottle.
Then the bartenders were not left out. They made sure there were drinks to go along side the meals and I couldn’t help ordering some takeaway meals too.
It was really an outing to remember!
Focus Direct guest house has really bought our unwavering patronage. To crown it all, they actually do home deliveries and catering services too. If you haven’t patronized them yet, then what are you waiting for? A trial will definitely convince you! If you ever feel the need to unwind, then it’s only a stone throw away for my Abuja peeps. It’s located at House 47, First Avenue FHA Lugbe, Abuja. You can also place orders via mail; focushotelsng@gmail.com or put a call through on 08034712886.
Have you ever felt the need to eat out with your family from time to time or are you more of a solo hangout kind of person? Where are your go to places that you can always rely on?
Sharing is Caring!
XOXO,
Yours Truly.
