That epic moment arrives when I finally realize that we have actually put our mark on every single space in our house. Although it took me almost 7 years to realize this, I have eventually decided to restructure and renovate without necessarily moving house.
Ultimately, I needed a space that I could relate with. Something that would speak to me or define me sort of, so I thought, instead of waiting indefinitely for that perfect dream house, why not make this house worth my while?
Disclaimer: I’m certainly not perfect at this, neither am I trying to give pointers on making your own upholstery because trust me, I don’t know how.
I’m just that mum sharing some of her experience amidst its ups and downs and also hoping to learn a thing or two from you too.
Speaking of renovations, of course there are always minor home décor here and there which for me is determined by the new year fever, just to spark up the ambience or make you have that ‘new year press the reset button urge’ feeling.
Well, I started the year on a clean slate but I’m not sure I can say the same for my house until a few days ago, which is why I’m sharing some of these hacks with you.
FY1: Surprise! Surprise! Hubz is the interior designer here, he knows when and where to call the shots, and they’re always on fleek.
We started with the wall by giving it a fresh new coat of paint. He had this really lovely and transforming half wall graphic design- entirely his ingenious idea.
Then we rearranged the furniture a little and changed a few. It can get really boring leaving stuff at a particular position for a long period of time. Try this and thank me later, it’s all about perspective.
Thanks to the girls too for making the house more homely and distinctively depicting ‘US’ through their amazing DIY artwork- I’m entitled to my opinion, but theirs are the most amazing artwork ever seen. LOL!
Declutter and Organise- Absolutely important. Why keep all the clutter when you can say good bye and hello to a happier and clutter free home? I’m working towards being a minimalist. One of my goals.
If you’re a plant lover, then definitely try out some. Although, I prefer using artificial flowers indoors. May be it’s due to some of those scary poisonous plant stories. You can’t be too cautious right?
This one isn’t a décor hack per say, but making use of home fragrances like diffusers can definitely leave a good lasting impression of your home.
I won’t say I’m completely done, but we are at a place where the major improvements we’ve always wanted to make are finished somewhat.
You know I’m always interested to read or hear about your habits or hacks which have worked for you. Please let me know by sending a mail or commenting down below…
