Yuletide Jingles And Blues (BLOGMAS)

by Nikimandi_Admin

It’s almost time for the holidays but I have been hyperventilating on and off for a while now. Do you wanna know why?

This is because Christmas is already here and the truth is that I don’t think I am ready enough yet. I mean, ‘HOW IS IT DECEMBER ALREADY?’

Will there ever be a year when I will be absolutely ready for this season though? I doubt that very much, but time will tell.

So where are my fellow last minute preppers? Please get in here immediately for a quick confab.

 LOL.

If you have been so busy, that you got caught up in other responsibilities and forgot about how close we are to Christmas or how time flies during this season, then don’t panic because you are not alone and I may have some quick tips to salvage the situation. I really hope that after this year’s choked up experience, we will all avoid being procrastinators, as much as possible. Hopefully…

Phew!

o   Delegate Tasks-I have delegated responsibilities to even the littlest of them all, Michelle. Even task which may seem as irrelevant as tasting the dough during the chin-chin making process, should not go unchecked. So this littlest madam will definitely come in handy here.

o   Surface Clean- Yea I called it ‘surface’ clean because at this point, this is one holiday that you don’t want to dwell on deep cleaning and all that stuff. There may really be no time for that anyway, so do the basics, like the normal day to day vacuum and mopping. If you want to go an extra mile, then please absolutely make it about sorting items to give to charity.

o   Shopping- No matter how busy you may be, try to always start your shopping a couple of months or weeks before December if you can. It really helps, even though this time around, I still haven’t finished my shopping and Santa is certainly going to send his elf through the Jumia express delivery.

Don’t judge me please!

o   Pre-Travel Tips- If you will be travelling like us, then it is advisable to prepare meals with easy recipes, especially these last few days before you eventually travel. You don’t want your freezer stocked up and then you are faced with the dilemma of deciding what to do with all that foodstuff, when you disconnect your power supply.

o   Gifts- Create a list of your gift recipients and gift ideas before time, in order to facilitate this process.

o   Be Organized- In the frenzy of preparation, I try not to forget our basic traditions like writing letters to Santa, baking and frying our signature cake and chin chin, among other fun stuff that will make it a memorable time for the kids and everyone.

Celebrate and be merry, bearing in mind that not everything will go according to plan. Just wallow in the revelry of the season and remember that it is all about our savior Jesus, making merry, giving and sharing gifts, love and hugs.

Everyone wants everything to be just perfect at Christmas time. No matter what we do, don’t forget that Christ is the reason for the season. Our energy should be geared towards being charitable, having fun with family and friends and not on some frivolous detail like the perfect Christmas cake or decoration.

I hope some of these ideas have really inspired you to prepare and enjoy your holiday to the fullest.

Thanks a lot for stopping by the blog today. It always means a lot to us. If you want to read a related post from last year, click here
