Picture this: Once upon a time, you were that little child with big dreams which you promised to make real one day.
What happened to those dreams? …
It’s never too late to live that dream life you desire. Most times, we get so busy making a living that we forget to make a life.
As a sequel to one of my previous posts on ‘Me time’, you only live once you know… although it could be argued that you live everyday and only die once. Well, that’s up to you and how you decide to look at the picture of life.
We end up being caught up in a never ending cycle of job, family and other responsibilities that we find ourselves gearing towards neglecting what’s actually important. Sometimes the monotonous lifestyle we lead can tend to be boring and we need to do things to spice it up and feel better once in a while.
I’m not suggesting something crazy like quitting your job or selling your house- except if it’s absolutely necessary anyway. All I’m saying is, it may just be something simple that you really need- like going on a short cruise, taking that vacay or indulging in that hobby… Nothing too fancy or exorbitant.
Take some time out of your busy schedule to think about the last time you’ve actually done something you really love doing. For instance, when was the last time you attended that bible study because you know you need to be rejuvenated?
When was the last time you went out of your comfort zone and took that huge risk?
Hubbies, wifeys, when was the last time you got your spouse that special gift?
Mums and dads, when was the last time you decided to put a stop to that feeling of guilt and just oblige your child’s needs?
I recently came across this; ‘To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people just exist.’- Oscar Wilde.
I certainly don’t want to fall under the last category, so I’ve decided to stop waiting all week for Friday, and all year for summer. Who’s with me? Let’s roll. #winks
XOXO,
Yours Truly.
